Utilizing the popular MOOC (massive open online course) format, Crown College will be offering a free, seven-week online course open to students worldwide. The MOOC format is designed for a truly “global classroom” that leverages the latest in technology and a unique, one-of-a-kind classroom dynamic.
Entitled “Understanding the New Testament”, the MOOC course is part of a larger biblical literacy initiative of the college and can accommodate hundreds or thousands of students, requires no application, and can lead to course credit for participants who choose to take a proficiency exam at the end of the 7-week course (optional). Anyone with internet access can participate and the free course is scheduled to begin February 22, 2016.
Designed to help participants master the critical concepts and history of the New Testament, the course is well-suited to individual students but group participation (bible study, church members, pastoral staff, ministry teams, etc.) is also encouraged.
“Our desire is to utilize the resources that God has given us in order to serve the Christian community by promoting biblical literacy and proclaiming the mighty works of God in history.” Dale Lemke, Christian Ministries Chair for Crown Online
